Extra Links for the Week

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

On a weekly basis I visit tons of blogs. The content is usually relevant to Design, CSS, JavaScript or occasionally some AJAX. This week I have been doing a lot of extra browsing in these categories and wanted to share a few of the links that I visit the most or just plain thought were cool. Since I am going to be gone for the rest of the week I figure I might as well share some of these links to keep everyone busy while I’m gone! The first one would have to be COLOURlovers.com. (more…)

EyeMyArt

Want to share your art? EyeMyArt.com is a new site where artists of all kinds can create a profile and share their art with the world! Once you create your own profile you can upload your projects with your own description of each. You file it under the correct category/medium and upload it to the server. Registered users can view, rate and comment on your project so you can get some feedback from other artists. This site is a cool idea and a great way to share your art. Another cool feature is the footer is a constantly updated tag cloud of all the art on the site. This site was designed and developed by my friend Travis Dahl of The Design Coalition. So artists, now is your time to shine! Check it out.

Project: Venetian Restaurant Menu

What I Did: The goal of this project was to take an existing restaurant that has a current website and create a menu for them. We were required to have three different menu sections and I added a history section for fun. The original website for the company is here. I took the type from their original history page and put it in mine. For the menu part I copied a few items off of another restaurants menu because for some reason the original menu is just scanned pages of paper.

Project: Vitality Sports Rehab Clinic

What I Did: The goal of this project was to create a company establish an identity for it. I created the logo, business cards, letterheads and finally I created the website for it. In this project I learned how to manage large projects a lot better than I could have imagined; from not only the creation side but also sending invoices and managing time sheets.

Hooray It’s a Real Post

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

I’ve started redesigning my site in WordPress recently and have grown tired of working with lorem ipsum. Then I thought, what could be better than a real post? So even though it isn’t done yet, I still feel the need to write something besides that darned lipsum. So… hmm.. what to talk about… How about my recent graduation from Platt College. I made it in and out of there in a few years and managed to graduate before my 21st birthday. Not to shabby eh?
